There's no use crying over spilled milk... or in my case... cut hair...

Today was supposed to be a happy day... I went out with my mom... smiled and laughed and chatted all the way till we got to the hair salon. We agreed on me having my hair cut -SHORT! haha. Mind you, i have never cut my hair short. So we sat there browsing through the magazines and there.. i found it! A beautiful haircut that would fit me :) Having a round shaped face doesnt help in wanting short hair. I sat there hour after hour... then i found out that my hairstyle of choice didn't look nice on me.. :( it killed me to see my mum yapping away saying mean things (she always does that when she's angry) all because of this ugly haircut that i chose... Wel.. Like i said, there's no use crying over spilled milk, or in my case.. cut hair. Well, thank the Lord that hair aren't like tatoos... at least it'll grow in about 6 weeks. Oh well.. whatever. What's done is done...

But gosh! i am just so damn pissed about this!!! I'll post a comic strip about this soon. as soon as i can find a scanner. haha. Till then...

Inspiration Icon

You know what inspires me the most? Art. Look around you dudes and dudettes! Art is everywhere! It's ~ LIFE! What's my inspiration icon? Pop Artist Andy Warhol... Too cool... I've read this article by Robert Venturi called Non-Starightforward Architecture: A gentle manifesto - in my opinion, it was brilliant but the articles has its pros and cons.. I didnt particulalrly agree on some parts but overall, it was a great article.. His words against Mies Van Der Rohe's idea of Less is More was very straightforward! Bang! "More is Not Less. Less is A Bore." Gosh.. I wonder how i would feel to be bombarded in such a way. But hey, Mies Van Der Rohe's principle has its pros too you know.. I mean complicated ideas and over the top designs are usually redundant.. So he opt for aestheticism and simplicity... Honestly i think the clash between both ideas actually has a bridge.. It built a bridge example... I build an overly simple building that at first glance is actually a Less is More building.. but then when you look at my concept and my opinions and my idea and look at my building again... you will find it to manifest venturi's priniciples.. The bridge is the understanding of both principles and manifesting them through unity... It's quite a difficult feat.. You know sometimes I wonder if anyone cared what architects as designers do. Honestly, most of my friends and family think that architects just do models and build homes... They have no idea the pain-staking stress we go through! I may not be an architect YET but as a student pursuing my degree in architecture, I sure as crap know how deep is this crap.

I think that architecture and art are inspiration icons. Because they react to people psychologically... like the orientation of a bedroom... the design of a holy place... Remember in history? The mesopotamians... The kingdoms compete against each other through architecture. Who ever has the most beautiful and the biggest gateway to the city is the richest, most succesful kingdom of all. Same goes with today, architecture is like a silent declaration of the country's development.
Living in a third world country right now... Art is seriously over-shadowed by science...why? maybe because now they believe science represents development. Dudes I agree but i think a balance of both shows true development. But I stand on my side of the fence when i say that Art is the true inspiration icon

My Room Decor

I'm designing the interior of my new bedroom. I was thinking of a Victorian design yet chic and fashionable. Something like Nicky Hilton's L.A. pad. Gorgeous! I love the black and white design she had done in her bedroom. Very fashionable. My friends weren't too keen on the idea of a black and white bedroom. Well, to me, it's art. Where else can I splash all that creative impulse if not in my own room right? I love her concept... absolute stylo~! Not only that, these colours could actually last me until years to come. If i opt for fluffies... err... that would be a little silly... Well, Nicky's whole theme gave me an idea about the colours I plan on using for my bedroom. So I'm thinking black, pink, and white. Elegant and stylo~! I found these beautiful dressing tables from the net. They are all so inspiring! I plan on painting my dressing table white. To match the entire room... sadly my bedroom is like *tiny* (whispers). Yea, TINY!! But never mind, style and art can be fitted in anywhere and everywhere.

I think that black mirror from the 1st picture below is really gorgeous and would fit beautifully with the concept. Well, the plan is to combine the first 3 dressing table's designs and make the perfect dressing/working table! My favourite design would be the 3rd from the left. The colour of course would be white. And the mirror will be like the ones from the 1st left and 1st right. They both look the same... NEXT! Lighting.

I went browsing with my mom the other day and we found a light shop near our home. It was really cool to find lights that just completes your whole idea and concept. There was even a bedside table that sticks against the wall. Gorgeous. And it was actually practical for my case since my room is so puny. LOL. But there was one design that I could barely take my eyes off... a black chandelier. wow. It's perfect! I think it completes the design concept that I was looking for. I mean, even nicky hilton had it in her dining room but her's was white.

I'll update my designing progress soon!

my little treasure box

When I was a preteen, I remember seeing my sister bringing home a small metal coloured box with two gold hearts on the lid and a quote from the psalms... I opened the box and remembered the smell. God, it was the smelliest "perfume" i had ever smelt in my entire life! A few years later I went to a shop near my house and I found the same box on the shelf. There were a few of it with different passages from the psalms. I chose the one that was most un-smelly of all and bought it. I've moved on now... and I wonder if my mother had thrown that box away... maybe I did... Well, that was quite a long time ago and I could hardly even remember anymore... All I could remember was that the box I had bought all those years ago once hold the keys to my many diaries and also my little piggy bank. I guess I'll open a new treasure box now that I've grown a little older... I just have to find the right one...

I hope to fill these pages with my very own impressions and inspirations that I might find along the way in my path of life. Have a little peek in my treasure box :)
